As part of the San Francisco Arts Commissions Art on Market Street. Wild, Spicy, Growing, Gritty, Spirited Transmission is a series of 6 posters that refers to works in the SFAC Civic Art Collection, in particular works that become part of the urban landscape and take forms not immediately recognizable as art, such as a green house, a staircase or a street post. The series is unified through a design combining patterns from many of San Francisco’s ethnic cultures. The posters reveal and celebrate the original artist’s hopes and intentions for the works as well as the expansive work and civic art collection  of the San Francisco Arts Commission. It was intended to encourage people on their daily commute to become familiar with artwork that may go unrecognized as such and to act as a reminder of the important role art and artists play in the cultural life of the city.
